As I explained last week, this new series is a way for me to focus on the things that bring me joy.

.) Last year, I did not open my windows once. Since mid-May, it’s been an almost-daily occurrence. I also love that I can see the sky. I’ve been in this apartment almost two years, and for some reason it’s only now dawning on me how cool and rare this is in New York. Even when I lived in Boston, there were always trees and other buildings in the way. I feel it makes a big difference.

.) My Kindle. I am in love. Especially since the NYPL does e-books now. I haven’t been this excited about an object in years. We went on a date to a wine bar the other night and had a great time.

.) Pink coconut water. Aka-Hipster Gatorade. hipster gatorade

.) Saturday night hot yoga. Yep, again.

.) My cousin got engaged! In the pictures her fiancé posted on Facebook, she looked so happy I thought I was going to cry right there at my desk.

.) My June Birchbox arrived earlier than expected. June Birchbox

.) Last week I wrote about feathers. Well, the other day, I was talking to a patient when they commented on my necklace with the little feather charm; I commented on the feather pattern of their fleece blanket. I didn’t mean for feathers to become my “thing,” but hey.

.) When I got out of the shower last night, Neil Young’s “Harvest Moon” came on the Jonathan Schwartz WNYC show (I’m that weirdo who still has a radio), and it was exactly what I needed to hear at that moment.

What’s brought you joy this week?
