Happy National Coffee Day! Are you celebrating? If you’re a coffee drinker, be sure to take advantage of some of the deals out there today!

I have a special coffee-themed post for you today, complete with a review and a giveaway.

But first off, let’s just talk for a second about how awesome coffee is. Not only does it taste great and perk you up (even decaf has a little caffeine), a recent study from Harvard shows it may keep depression at bay.

A few weeks ago, Foodbuzz sent me two new flavors of Godiva coffee to review. I was pretty psyched when I opened the box to find a bag each of Godiva Coffee’s latest seasonal flavors—Pumpkin Spice and Caramel Pecan Bark, both inspired by the company’s famous chocolates.

I opened the Pumpkin Spice first. It smelled fabulous. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed by the taste the first time I brewed some. I drink my coffee black, and this just came off as too flavored. The next go-around it was a little mellower. I imagine this would be fantastic in a frothy almond milk drink with lots of cinnamon.

I think my favorite of the two was the Caramel Pecan Bark, though I’m not sure where the “bark” comes in. I get that bark is a type of candy, but it still seems weird. On its own, it’s “drinkable,” but balanced out with a little milk, it tastes like a sweet treat.

However, Chris had an interesting observation. “It’s like they’re trying to appeal to people who don’t like coffee by hyper-flavoring it.”

So if you like flavored coffee, you’ll probably love these. I’m also planning to use the grounds in a brownie or cake recipe soon.

In honor of National Coffee Day, I have two coupons for $2 off one bag of Godiva coffee to give away. If you’d like one, leave a comment below. I’ll post the randomly-selected winners tomorrow!
