Calling this a recipe feels kind of silly but this time of year when we’re feeling crunched for time (and money) it’s a great quick and easy option for an appetizer for that holiday gathering that snuck up on you-or if you’re just looking for a healthy, seasonal twist on your usual snack standby.

Several months ago this recipe idea appeared in my article for The List on healthy and delicious ways to dress up store-bought hummus, so here’s an actual recipe for you to enjoy. Better late than never!

Aside from the delicious taste and creamy texture, the nutrition stats rock too. Cutting the hummus with pumpkin purée ups the fiber content and sneaks in some vitamin A. It’s also an easy way to shave off a few calories to lighten things up if you’re trying to build in some wiggle-room for holiday treats.

Enjoy!
