Happy Thursday! I’ve got a bunch of exciting stuff to share with you today, so let’s jump right on in!

*I’ve been playing with avocado recipes recently. I have something coming your way tomorrow.

*Last weekend my sister got engaged! I’m really happy for her. Since she’s my only sibling, it’s kind of a big deal, but I’ll try to keep wedding-related posts to a minimum here : )

*On Saturday, March 25th, I’m leading a workshop on self-care for entrepreneurs at the Lady Project Summit in Providence. I’m a proud Lady Project member and love their focus on “connecting, inspiring, and showcasing awesome women doing amazing things.” Details and tickets here. We have lots of great speakers lined up and fantastic sponsors (like HelloFresh, just to name one of my personal faves).

*I’ve mentioned before that I’m a paid spokesperson for KIND snacks, and I’m so excited to share this news with you, as it involves a cause I care about and some of my “food heroes” all in one place. Last week, KIND’s Founder & CEO Daniel Lubetzky pledged $25 million to create Feed the Truth, “an independent organization that will seek to improve public health by making truth, transparency, and integrity the foremost values in today’s food system.” To ensure transparency and eliminate bias, Lubetzky will remove himself and KIND from the organization’s operations. He has assembled three unaffiliated public health advocates (who are lending their expertise voluntarily, without being paid for their participation) to nominate Feed the Truth’s Board of Directors. They include:

 ·         Deb Eschmeyer, former Executive Director of Let’s Move! and Senior Policy Advisor for Nutrition Policy at The White House

·         Michael Jacobson, PhD, Co-Founder and President of the Center for Science in the Public Interest

·         Marion Nestle, PhD, MPH, Professor of Nutrition, Food Studies, and Public Health at New York University

“In establishing Feed the Truth, my intent is to elevate reputable science, bolster the voices of the nutrition community, and improve the guidance and information offered to Americans,” Lubetzky said. “As a business owner, I understand the importance of prioritizing your bottom line, but it’s equally as important to consider how you can succeed while also thinking about the long-term impact on the community.”
