Happy almost-weekend! I can’t believe it’s the end of June. This month has flown by. For lots of reasons, June 2017 is going to be one of the ones I look back on as having a Before and an After.

One really exciting thing: I just passed the final exam for my health coaching certification program. I can’t believe it’s already been a year! I feel so much more focused and so much more myself. In a lot of ways, I feel more like my teenage self, who really knew who she was and what she wanted. I was afraid I’d gotten away from that for good.

I know that I’ve been talking about changes, and perhaps the biggest one is that going into the summer, I’m not going to be working at the hospital. This is both exciting and scary, but every fiber of my being knows it’s the right thing right now, and it feels good to be spending my time on meaningful projects and working with coaching clients. I’ve also been doing a lot more food demos and public speaking events. Even just comparing a few months ago to now makes my head spin, but I’m in that “one foot in front of the other” mode, which makes it a lot easier to prioritize and plan my schedule to be actually somewhat manageable.

The flexibility to spend more time with my family is absolutely priceless too. Rather than look at it like trying to make up for lost time, I’m simply calling it making time for the important stuff.

Family Portrait June 2017

One awesome part about my work is that I can do it from almost anywhere, and I’ve certainly been making good use of the portable writing cave. Lots of what you’ll be reading from me over the next few months will have been written in airports and on buses and in coffee shops and at my parents’ kitchen counter. And from my own home “office” (aka desk by the window) of course. Here’s a bunch of recent pieces I’ve written, a podcast episode I appeared on, and some other fun media stuff for you to enjoy.

Have a great weekend!
