I had yesterday off because I’m working the weekend. The timing couldn’t have been better, as I was going bleary-eyed from exhaustion. I was still pretty damn tired Thursday, but the ten hours of sleep I got helped a lot. I took a couple naps and cooked a bunch of stuff for the weekend. An even better way to get the month started was dinner with a few of my high school friends at Five Napkin Burger.  My photos are super-dark, but there was spinach & artichoke dip for the table, milkshakes for the guys, wine & water for the ladies. I ordered the burger salad with a veggie patty (made with chickpeas, lentils, carrots, and some other stuff that is not tree nuts). It was exactly what I was in the mood for. If there are pickled onions, greens, and/or blue cheese involved, I’m an easy sell. img 0655 - Kicking off My Birthday Month

Sauvignon blanc totally counts as “good” carbs. At least that’s what I tell myself…

This is the first weekend in a while where I don’t have ten billion things planned, so I’m looking forward to maybe catching my breath a little, weekend workdays or not…
