You guys know I’m all about finding easy ways to make it as convenient as possible to stick to the healthy habits that support our goals. Kitchen tools and appliances that streamline meal prep and cooking can make that so much easier. I don’t know about you, but I don’t even want to think about how much money (and counter space) I’ve spent over the years on gadgets that performed just one or a very few functions or turned out to be difficulty to use, so I get really excited about products that multitask and cater well to impatient / busy / lazy people like me who identify as a kinetic learner or maybe don’t have the mental bandwidth to pore through a manual. When the Thermomix team reached out to me about testing out the new TM6, I couldn’t wait to take it for a spin.
The Thermomix TM6 does the work of multiple appliances, performing 20-plus functions at the push of a button that include: chopping, blending, sautéing, simmering, kneading, sous-vide, slow cooking, caramelization, fermentation, high-heat cooking, and more. It even self-cleans! With one stainless steel bowl, state-of-the-art blade, precision heating element, an embedded scale, and baskets for steaming. To make it super-easy to create delicious homemade meals, it also connects wirelessly to the Cookidoo network to give you access to hundreds of tested recipes the program walks you through. You can also freestyle it and use the different functions to cook your faves or experiment. While I was initially intimidated the fact that there were various pieces and attachments, thanks to the easy set-up and recipe resources that link up to the machine, within a few minutes I was creating a tasty, healthy meal. This helped build my confidence up quickly to start creating my own recipes using the Thermomix.
Here’s a peek at some of the delicious stuff I’ve made so far:

- Apple sauce
- Pie filling
- Butternut squash and apple soup
- Marinara sauce to enjoy with eggs and vegetables
- Steamed salmon and zucchini noodles with lemon caper sauce
I also can’t wait to experiment with bread and cookie dough recipes for holiday projects and want to play around with more mixed dishes where you cook veggies and proteins at the same time. I also can’t wait to play with the sous vide and fermentation functions. Perhaps my favorite part: You can put all the different parts except the base in the dishwasher! If you know me then you know how much I hate a sink full of dirty dishes, so this is a dream come true.
