not a school, but too funny not to share

I’ve read some really interesting studies on vending machines in recent months, and this morning, yet another one caught my eye. An article recently published online in the Journal of Adolescent Health revealed that vending machines have the potential to both undermine and improve students’ health.

Vending machines carrying high-sugar, high-salt, and high-fat snacks can influence children to make unhealthy food choices, the study showed, but in schools where vending machines sold fresh produce, students were more likely to eat fruits and vegetables.

I think the takeaway here is that if you want kids to make healthier choices, offer healthier options.
