Happy What I Ate Wednesday . Hope you’re having a great week. I know last week I shared some Halloween weekend stuff, but I had such a great time when my mom and sister came to town that Sunday, I thought I’d share the tasty things we enjoyed together. Oh dear, that sounds so syrupy-positive “love love love,” but I really am lucky when it comes to having my mom and sister in my life—and that they live close enough that we get to see each other fairly regularly. So yeah, this week’s “What I Ate” post is about Daylight Savings/Marathon day, when we went to see Les Miserables (thank you to Living Social for posting such an awesome ticket deal—even our nosebleed seats were great!) and eat good food while other people recovered from Halloween hangovers or ran their butts off in the rest of the five boroughs.

My appetite was still weird from being sick this day, and I woke up craving…salad. It didn’t even occur to me to take a picture because it was so weird, but I chalked it up to getting over a cold. After doing stuff around the apartment, and yoga, I got hungry again so I had the last of some leftover steamed veggies with a spoonful of shredded fontina cheese. I love how fontina melts so nicely.

Lunch at Five Napkin Burger in Hells Kitchen. I had a turkey burger over salad—delicious! Five Napkin turkey burger salad

During intermission, I ate a Fiber D’lish bar.

We went out for an early dinner at Landmarc. We shared a bottle of red wine and ordered the bone marrow appetizer to start, marrow and bread

along with some grilled octopus that came over braised gigante beans. Landmarc octopus

For my main dish, I ordered a small nicoise salad. Apparently I was really feeling the salad thing that day!

Since dinner was at 5, I got hungry a few hours later and had some Greek yogurt that I mixed with cocoa powder and PB2. Forgot to take a picture, though.

Luckily, I woke up feeling much better the next day. Amazing how a day off can make such a different.

Do you crave certain things when you’re sick?
