Enjoying a Self-Care Sunday to recharge between jam-packed weeks can make a world of difference. It’s not always easy to practice what I preach with this one, but I savor it when I can. For this week’s “What I Ate Wednesday” post I’m sharing a look at an example of taking my own advice. I recently enjoyed a restorative day that included a walk in the park, girl-talk with my mom, a fun barre class, meal prep, cleaning my apartment, a meditation class. And delicious food, of course. Lots of salad, apparently. Here’s the “what I ate” part of the day:

Post-Walk Breakfast Salad

Breakfast Salad with Eggs

Lunch: Salad with arugula, zoodles, tuna, avocado, sauerkraut; berries for dessert

Chicken Salad Desk Lunch

Around 5 after a bunch of writing and event prep, I had some plain yogurt with cocoa powder and peanut butter

Dinner was late, since I decided to go to a mediation class. Afterwards, while cooking, I tried this sparkling wine in a can I’d posted to Instagram about (meh). Then I grilled a steak and threw together a quick arugula salad

Steak and Arugula Salad

I was still a bit hungry so before bed had berries with a spoonful of cheesecake dip
