Happy Wednesday. Hope you’re having a great week! I’m away with my family and trying to keep the work to a minimum, but I’ll share some vacation highlights next week. Seriously, this is the first purely “for pleasure” trip I’ve taken in several years that was longer than a weekend, so it’s much-needed.

For last week’s food diary-style post I shared a look at what I ate on an event day, and for today’s I’m showing what was on the menu on a catch-up day where I focused on projects and clients and coming back to earth after rushing around the day before. I made time for an early walk in the park before going to a yoga class, and then I met up with my friend Jill  for lunch and to catch up and hear about the cool stuff she’s been working on!

I’ve noticed that on Fridays where the week was busy or I have a full weekend ahead, I like to just enjoy a mellow night at home, which is exactly what I did—I find folding laundry and reading to be a satisfying way to recharge my batteries.

Here’s the “what I Ate” part of the post:

WIAW381-Catch-Up-Day

Breakfast: using up leftovers via breakfast salad with one-hard-boiled egg, avocado, and leftover squash & radishes tossed with red-wine vinegar
Post-yoga snack: I was a little hungry so had the last half-cup if leftover roasted purple sweet potatoes since lunch was still almost two hours away
Lunch at Piccolo Cafe: grilled octopus, which came with olives, cherry tomatoes, celery, micro greens, and potatoes; and a ton of water, since we were sitting outside and it was hot
Afternoon snack: Plain Greek yogurt with cocoa powder and frozen berries
Dinner: lazy salad of leftover veggies with ground turkey tossed in and topped with babaganoush and a sprinkle of goat cheese; the last half of a bottle of ginger kombucha while prepping; a square of dark chocolate with sea salt for dessert

What’s your favorite thing to order in a restaurant? If grilled octopus is on a menu, I basically have to order it. I love it that much.
