While I love doing events, sometimes they fall at weird times of day that conflict with normal meal times. That means I have to get creative about how I space out meals and snacks. When I was younger, I was a lot more rigid about the times of days I ate and at what times of day I ate certain foods, and I’m really glad I got over that one. Flexibility makes life so much easier!

For today’s What I Ate Wednesday post, I’m sharing a look at what I ate on a recent day where I had an event from 10:30-3 with no scheduled break. I never quite know what I’m walking into, but it ended up being a good one. Take a peek!

Breakfast: collagen cocoa before Pilates ; later frittata with roasted purple sweet potato & side salad
At the event: cherry tomatoes, sliced cucumber, beef jerky, collagen powder in my coffee
Post-event: plain Greek yogurt with cocoa powder & pumpkin I was trying to use up and raspberries and a drizzle of sunflower seed butter on top
Treat: was walking by a wine bar with outdoor seating and decided to stop and have a drink of sparkling rose. Why the fuck not? It was the perfect treat for a summer evening. Bonus: I got some writing done while I enjoyed some beautiful outside time.
Dinner: mesclun greens with zoodles, radishes, sautéed summer squash (link), avocado, and foil-baked cod (linked), dressed with red wine vinegar and garnished with goat cheese
After dinner: Natural calm in warm water, a piece of dark chocolate

What are your go-to snacks on a busy day?
