DSC02820This morning’s brunch went really well! The prep we did yesterday made our lives a whole lot easier today. It’s amazing how fast things move when you’re in the kitchen, though. When I was a server at a country club once upon a time, events used to drag. I find when I’m prepping, cooking,  or washing dishes, the hours fly by.

I didn’t realize how hard we’d been working until I got home. I hadn’t been chopping 20 pounds of watermelon like I’d been yesterday for the agua fresca, but all that pouring, plating, and cleaning adds up, I guess. One of the best parts, of course, is being able to taste what you made. There was plenty of that! I like cooking labs so much better than science labs. I also seem to break a lot less glass…
